The GoPro™ cameras bring new videographic possibilities to divers. Their small size and simplicity allow them to go places no other cameras can. Their modest price allows you to capture video in places you would never consider with a full-function video system.
However, there is more to proper underwater use of a GoPro™ than just diving.
The GoPro housing with flat lens, glass or acrylic.
GoPro housing with flat lens, includes filter,
filter tool, spare domed lens, and distance ring.
The standard GoPro™ housing has a semi-domed port for the lens. This port was not designed for underwater use, which will result in unsatisfactory focus when used underwater. To solve this problem a flat port is used; either glass or acrylic.
The Distance Ring.
When flat ports are used with GoPro™ cameras, the included distance ring must be installed. The distance ring ensures that at great depths that compression of the housing rear door does not move the camera into contact with the flat lens.
Place the Black Rubber Distance Ring Around the HERO Lens Before Installing Camera Into Housing With Flat Lens.
The included orange filter is easily installed, however it is difficult to remove the filter.
Insert the Orange Filter Inside the Lens Port. Use Clean Hands and Push the Filter Forward to the Flat Lens.
